Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week’s edition of Loose Watercolours with me! How have you all been? Did you get any painting done? Did you have a relaxing time? I certainly did - I’ve just landed back in the UK after jetting off on my holidays, but did you manage to guess where I was? That’s right, I was off in Valencia, in sunny Spain!
Have you ever been to Spain? It’s wonderful and hot, and the food is absolutely delicious - I’ve been thoroughly converted to the likes of paella and tapas. I really think they might be on to something there. Of course, it was me, so I had to fit in some painting practice along the way, so I did some watercolour plein air in the main market in the city centre.
The port was also a great place for a pit stop! And of course, I carry my brushes with me wherever I go.
That’s not all that happened this week, though, as there’s a few new tutorials available for you all to paint along to. The clocks went forward this past weekend, which can mean only one thing - summer is just around the corner! So why not dream about cloudless skies and paint along to this ‘Blue Ocean Ride,’ available now on Patreon? You can find it by following the link here.
Or if flowers are more your thing, why not paint along to this ‘Simple Orange Floral’ which is now available on loosewatercolours.com? With some beautiful orange tones, it’s the perfect thing to practice now that spring is well and truly in season. You can find it by following the link here.
And another note just to say an enormous thank you to all of you who have joined the Beginners Watercolour Group on Facebook. I was amazed by the incredibly enthusiastic response, and it’s lovely to see all of your amazing work being posted daily! If you’re interested in joining in the fun, here’s the link: https://m.facebook.com/groups/753969806117098/?ref=share
We’re back on the normal schedule this week, so as always, there’s an exclusive tutorial at the end of this post to say an enormous thank you to all of you that are paid subscribers to this channel. It’s support like yours that helps keep this Substack running, so if there’s anything in particular that you’d like to see, please feel free to let me know! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy painting along to these ‘Snowdrops in Blue!’
Until next time, though, it’s goodbye from Toby and I, as we’re off to see if we can sniff out any last-minute Easter treats. We’ve heard a rumour that Easter eggs are selling for half price at our local Tescos, and we’re off to take full advantage. But for the rest of this week, happy painting!
