Hello everyone, and welcome back to another week of loose watercolours. The rain has continued this week, so it’s been bucketing it down almost every day. That brief spurt of summer we had a few weeks ago has faded into a distant memory, but at least the garden has never looked better! It’s been an indoor painting week these past few days, but that doesn’t mean it’s been any less fun - after all, I’ve had Toby the dog for company, which is always nice.
It was lovely to see so many of you at last Monday’s live broadcast. It was great fun to paint ‘Table Pot Plant,’ and I hope you all got as much enjoyment out of it as I did! I’ve seen some of your results on the Loose Watercolour Facebook Group, and I have to say, they’re looking good! You’re all progressing in leaps and bounds! If you want to join in the fun tonight, the live broadcast is on at the usual time of 8pm GMT, and tonight’s subject is ‘Old Door in the Sun.’ Here’s the link: https://loosewatercolours.com/live-broadcast/
Even the Loose Gang joined in the fun last week!
If you’re a member of the Patreon, you may have noticed a new addition this week - the member’s choice for a new tutorial! ‘Blooming Floral’ was taken from my recent trip to Dorset, and I hope you all enjoy painting along as much as I did! If you’d like to paint it too, here’s the link: https://www.patreon.com/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours
In addition, there was a new tutorial released this week on loosewatercolours.com. ‘Bouquet of Flowers.’ This is a delicate little bouquet, and it’s perfect for any seasonal crafts you want to create this summer - maybe your niece is getting married, or it’s your sister’s birthday! Either way, I’m sure they’d enjoy a beautifully hand-painted card with this bouquet on it, so why not paint along? Here’s the link: loosewatercolours.com.
If you’d like to get notified whenever there’s a new tutorial posted, why not join the Loose Watercolours Beginners Group on Facebook? It’s a wonderfully warm and welcoming community of beginner painters, and it’s the perfect place to stumble across some hints and tips as to how to improve your painting. Plus, it’s a great place to find a spot of inspiration or two! If that sounds like fun, click the link here to join in: https://www.facebook.com/groups/753969806117098/
That’s all from me this week, as there’s a break in the rain, so I’m off out to perfect a painting or two! As always, there’s an exclusive tutorial available at the end of this post as an enormous thank you to all of you paid subscribers. After all, as I’m sure you all know by now, this Substack wouldn’t exist without you! So I hope you all fancy some floral fun this week and enjoy painting along to ‘Early Meadow,’ a wonderful little tutorial where you can create some beautifully fresh little flowers in a lavender blue meadow. What more could you wish for in this summer season?
Anyways, that’s goodbye for now from Toby and I, and I hope you all have a lovely week. Happy painting!
