Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week’s edition of Loose Watercolours! How have you been? Good, I hope. With this week, it’s now effectively autumn, which feels ridiculous to say. The year has flown by so fast! But I hope you’ve enjoyed the summer as much as I have, and are looking forward to all the excitement that the beginning of a new season brings. How’s your week been? Whatever you’ve been up to, I hope you’ve found a little time to relax and enjoy the last of the sunshine.
It was so lovely to see lots of you at our last live broadcast, ‘Garden Rest.’ Thank you for joining me! As always, our live broadcasts take place on Monday evenings at 8pm (GMT), and you can join us through either Loose Watercolours or Patreon, as I stream to both platforms simultaneously. So, just pick whichever is most convenient for you, grab your paints and join me for an evening of relaxed watercolour painting.
If you’re looking for some lovely loose watercolour inspiration, why not take a look at last week’s broadcast? Below, you’ll find a beautiful gallery showcasing some of your versions of ‘Window Dressing.’ Let me know if you can spot yours, and click here to enjoy some more.
If you’re after a loose watercolour tutorial this week, why not head over to Patreon? There’s a new still life tutorial waiting for you to try. This week’s subject is called ‘Old Enamel Jug.’ If you’d like to paint along, you can find the link here: https://www.patreon.com/cw/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours
There’s also another tutorial over on the website if you’re after more painting practice. This week, the subject is ‘Mr Beetroot,’ which you can try by heading over to loosewatercolours.com.
And that’s not all! There’s another free tutorial available this week for you to try - ‘Perfect Pear.’ Why not give it a go? Be sure to let me know how you get on!
I’ve spent the last week or so going through some of my painting archives, and I came across these two beauties! I’m curious - which one’s your favourite out of the two? Let me know in the poll below. I always like getting feedback, as it’s a great way for me to get a sense of what you all like to paint.
If you’re looking for an upgrade to your painting kit, or just want a refresh for the new season, then why not upgrade to some new brushes for your painting practice? You can get your very own set of Loose Gang brushes by following the link just here: https://www.patreon.com/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours/shop/loose-gang-brush-set-28089?source=storefront
That’s all from me this week! I can feel a slight chill in the air, and that can only mean one thing - that it’s time for a cup of tea! That, and a nice biscuit too. What a treat. As always, there’s an exclusive tutorial waiting especially for all you lovely paid subscribers. Your generous support helps keep this Substack going, and I’m so very grateful for each and every one of you! This week’s tutorial is ‘Summer in Bloom,’ so I hope you enjoy painting along with me.
Toby and I will be back in your inboxes very soon, but until then, have a wonderful week, enjoy the changing seasons, and, as always, happy painting!
