I think it's officially spring now.
Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week’s edition of Loose Watercolours! How’s your week been? Good, I hope. A slightly later edition this week, but that’s because I’ve been up to all sorts of painting-related fun, and the week’s just simply slipped by! Well, they do say that time flies when you’re having fun. It’s been the bank holiday over here again (Another? You ask. Yes - it’s bank holiday season after all.), so I’ve been making the most of the weather to sit back, relax, and get some painting done. Hopefully you’ve had a relaxing week too, and if you’ve got any painting done, even better! If not, don’t worry. Every day is the perfect time to start afresh.
It was lovely to see you all at the last live broadcast, which was Monday’s ‘Sunflower Buddies.’ If you’re looking to paint more over this year, why not come along to one of the live broadcasts? In terms of painting practice this week, there’s a new tutorial over on Patreon for you to try. This time, the subject is ‘Enamel & Petals,’ which is a lovely little floral number in honour of spring finally being in full swing. Toby and I have been admiring the cherry blossoms in particular when we walk around the village - they’re certainly a sight. In case you missed it, I was in the south of France recently, and I’m still recovering from all of the beautiful sights, quite frankly. So I thought I’d take another look at this painting I did outside of one of the many art museums there. Here’s a before and after - can you spot the difference?
