Well would you look at that? We’re already half way through October, and it’s starting to get dark outside before seven o’clock. Doesn’t time fly when you’re not looking? How’ve you all been? Did you have a nice week? Did you get any painting done? However you spent your week, it’s time to relax, refresh, and restart - and of course, pick up those paintbrushes! A dab of loose watercolours can fix any problem - that, and a cup of tea.
Last week’s live broadcast as ‘Potty Geranium,’ which was a really fun one to paint. With lots of bright colours and splashy florals, it’s very much a reminder of when the flowers were in full bloom and summer was in the air. I hope you all had as much fun as I did painting along! Everyone is always welcome to join in with the live broadcasts, which are usually every Monday night at 8pm GMT. Not this week, though, as I’m currently off painting in Europe - more on that when I get back, though.
There’s also a new tutorial on Patreon this week - ‘Simple Cherries.’ I don’t know about you, but they look delicious - almost good enough to eat! It’s a nice, simple tutorial, so you can practice your brush skills and build up your confidence with the loose technique with this one. If you’d like to give it a go, just follow the link here: https://www.patreon.com/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours
And that’s not all! With orange leaves scattered across the ground, that can only mean one thing. Dare I say it? Winter is coming, and with it, lots of snow and cold weather. So why not enjoy it safe and snug inside with a nice cup of tea? That’s right, you can paint your very own winter scene in ‘Blanket of Snow,’ which is now availible on the website. You can paint along here: loosewatercolours.com
If you’re a member of loosewatercolours.com, there are over three hundred fully narrated tutorials for you to try out your loose skills with! There’s a whole back catalogue of different paintings to try, so have a look through them all here: loosewatercolours.com/product-category/memberships
And if you fancy a nice treat this autumn, why not consider picking up your very own set of the Loose Gang? As you can see, they now travel in style, so all you need to add is a nice cup of tea! You can pick up a set here: https://loosewatercolours.com/product-category/loose-gang
The best way to get notified when new tutorials drop and when the live broadcast is on every week is to join the Loose Watercolour Beginners Group. It’s full of bright and beautiful art, ideal for finding some loose inspiration, and there’s also links to all of the tutorials every week, so you’ll never miss one again! If you’d like to join, follow the link here: https://m.facebook.com/groups/753969806117098/?ref=share
And if you’re a floral fan like me, why not join the new group, focusing entirely on painting loose florals and flowers? You can join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/541116981763447
You can’t really seem to get away from the fact that it’s autumn now, especially as the entire village is covered from top to toe with brown, crispy leaves - something that Toby loves to explore. So I thought I’d use it for a little bit of watercolour inspiration this week! Here’s my street scene featuring wholly autumnal colours, and of course, coffee.
That’s all this week from Toby and I, as I’m heading off on a painting trip tomorrow, and I still have quite a bit of packing to do! After all, I don’t want to forget anything important like brushes or paints. This week’s exclusive tutorial is ‘Bouquet of Flowers,’ a lovely little floral scene with some vibrant yellow and purple shades - perfect for the end of summer! As always, a massive thank you to all of you paid subscribers for all of your support, and I hope you enjoy painting along! I’m always interested to see your versions of these tutorials!
Until next time, though, it’s goodbye from us here at Loose Watercolours HQ, and I’ll be back in your inboxes very soon with some more exciting updates!
